Red LEDs - Light Emitting Diode

When we talk about red LED. What's the picture in your mind? Is it a big red LED light bulb with super brightness? Today we talk about the red Light Emitting Diode with red color.

Then what is the LED(light emitting diode)? A light emitting diode (led) is a dual-lead semiconductor light source. When the pn diode emits light, it will emit light. When an appropriate voltage is applied to the lead, the electrons can recombine with the electron holes in the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor. When an appropriate voltage is applied to the lead, electrons can recombine with electron holes. The picture as follow is a 5mm Red Through-Hole LED with 2 pins. Only need to connect the current to the pins, the Red LED will be working immediately.

Not just the through-hole LED type, we can also produce these red LED as Red Smd Led type. As the project, sometime we can make it with 1 chips red SMD LED , such as 2835 Red Smd Led, 3528 Red Smd Led, 5730 Red SMD LED. 2 Chips Red SMD LED like 2835 2 chips red LED, 5730 two chips LED ect. Or we can make it with 5050 SMD LED red LED. We can make it with 620nm LED in three chips, 660Nm LED in three chips ect.
