SMD LED can also have a viewing angle as your application. Please check the picture as follow: We packaged this 940nm LED bare die with 5054 SMD LED High Power SMD LED case. In order to make the reduce the viewing angle of these High Power IR LED, we added a dome lens on the top of 940nm LED SMD LED. With this lens, this IR LED are able to emit a longer radiation distance. Are you still worry about through-hole LED cannot meet your design? If you need some SMD LED type that have a lighting result same as Through-hole LED. Then dome lens clear LED can be a choose for your application! As the picture in the follow, we packaged this LED with high power 5050 SMD LED case, after that, we added a dome clear lens on the top of SMD LED so that this SMD LED also have a 30 degree view angle as same as 30 degree through-hole LED which can make this high power IR LED 940nm LED get more concentrated lighting result.
