There have three chip inside of this through-hole LED lamp: red, green and blue. Which are three primary colors of light. With this three LED chips, you can make this RGB LED be a multi color lamps by control all the three cathode lead(red+blue=purple color, red+green= yellow, green+blue= cyan and red+blue+green=white). This Z509FRGBC-12 RGB LED is a common cathode GRB LED, red, green and blue LED chip share the same anode lead at the same time. On the other hand, as we know, we can produce white color LED with just one single LED chip and we can also get the white color by RGB LED. But the white color that emits by RGB LED will have more pure white color than the one just have one single LED chip.
